There are few rules for submitting work to Unquiet Desperation. All we ask is that your work is original and not posted or published elsewhere.

Poetry and Prose

For prose submissions, we accept pieces of up to 2000 words, though due to space restrictions and weight of submissions anything over 1000 words has to have something really special about it.

Since poetry is generally less fixed in format it's hard to talk about length, but we have in the past accepted pieces of about 200 lines, but again anything approaching that is held to a higher standard. That doesn't mean we don't want to see long, ambitious pieces - we certainly do - but they have to justify that size.

The deadline for submissions for our next issue, UD2.3, is the last moment of Friday 18th July. Send up to three pieces of poetry or prose using one of the following methods:

  • E-mail: subs @ unquietdesperation.co.uk
  • Private message: PM UD's Editor via this website
  • MySpace: Message us via our MySpace profile

Art

We accept art of many types for our magazine, record label and other projects. Instead of calling for submissions, we like to talk to prospective art contributors to discuss what they can provide. There is no deadline for art subs. Contact us using one of the following methods to tell us about your art and find out more details:

  • E-mail: art @ unquietdesperation.co.uk
