Discuss here. If we reached the Singularity, then...what type of world would we be in? We rely so much n technology that, if it accelerated at an exponential rate... Huh

I've voted yes, but I do have reservations. There are many obstacles to be overcome: Moore's Law continuing to be in effect, proof of invalidity of philosophical objections to AI, etc. However if these are overcome, I have no idea what the Singularity will be like, and anyone that says they do is either a liar of a fool. As I said elsewhere, us trying to comprehend life post-Singularity is like an ant watching a Shakespeare play...

Not extinct. Everything would be constantly changing because, say in the modern world, the internet would be changing so fast that I would have to buy a new computer every 10 minutes to keep up with the amount of data being sent all at once, and for it to be decoded from such securely-encrypted data. And it would then become 5 minutes. And then 1 minute. And then...

Buying a new computer every ten minutes isn't practical.  I can't really grasp that concept, but shouldn't  technology be able to adapt?
