Boards for Poetry ...boards for prose. None for Drama. Why ? If I do have a specialism it's that. My qualification and experiences are in Drama and I  would like to see a board opened up for playwrights, scriptwriters and dramatists, for the writing and discussion of dialogues thereof.

Characterisation. Action. Settings. Cues. Stage Directions. Scene Divisions. Dramatic Pauses. Special Effects. Denouement. The lot.

Scripts for stage. Scripts for Radio. Scripts for the large and small screens and the discussion of the inherent differences betwen these mediums. I want to read them. I want to red pen them. I want to rant and rave and storm off in prissy temper tantrums at their dramatic effectiveness or lack of.  I want convincing characters. I want curtain up. I want costume. I want make up. I want velcro fasteners. I want lights . I want action. I want SILENCE in rehearsal. I want the lines learned by heart. I want a captive audience. I want a sting in the tail not numb bums on seats. I want catharsis by chracterisation.  I want happy endings . I want sad endings. I want life. I want Death. I want the pain. I want the pleasure. I want life in slices. And I want it now.

NOW...who's game ?

the most painful but wonderful thing about literature is discovering someone else has managed to distill something better than you ever could.

Hey Goldberg,

It's an interesting idea. Main thing seems to how to implement it. Are there really enough people here writing their own drama to justify a full section in each of the artistic boards? Maybe we could have a board devoted to all drama, both members' and non-members'. If members post enough of their own stuff then we could look at it again.

Thoughts?

Carpe diem,
Mike.

My thoughts entirely....a discrete Drama thread would be necessary. If you're having people submit scripts , the submissions, if presented in correct layout, will run into literally pages and pages. Can't wait !

I think it is a fantastic idea. I write plays. I have some I would be interested in posting if there was a section for it.
