Rummaging through my shelves the other day I alit upon two bosky tomes of my teenage writings...scrawled away in blue ink and then archived  for posterity...leafing through them it was a curious blend of  hormonal pillockry and intense semantic outpourings poetic prose   as the young Nat Goldberg embryonic in his wake was to make his way into the world - his world and maybe later to into your world...it could be you...

Reading  through them was a quaint combination of embarassment and awe; a hybrid of a man who  knew so many and touched a few more. The end product being a cross between the Diary of Adrian Mole and Hannibal Rising.

I am in a dilemma as to whether to put these expressions of angst up here or not. Should they be now buried discretely in a vault like radioactive waste for the good of everyone ? Or aired their world premiere here on the pages of Unquiet Desperation for all to see ? Nat's papers of pap destruction. The Unpublished Goldberg. The inner Nat. The outtakes the deleted scenes. The words they never read. Or maybe not.

Ladies and gentlemen of the UD Forums I put it to the vote...who would like to poke their nose into Nat's private papers before they go to Sotheby's for auction ?

I like going through the old editions of private writings and books of past years-even ones just finished. Im often in hysterics for hours-they are probaly the most nonsense i have ever read-and also the most rewarding...

I think it could make for a very interesting read  Smiley

(* bangs gavel *)Lady in the corner there...Miss Nancy...any advance on Sinister Miss Nancy...

[Actually ...case in point...my outpourings at that age were the truest me that ever was before I got all moulded and shaped and affected and world weary by professional and social scenarios as we all do. I think its hard to return to that sort of open expession ever again as you get older...yes some of it is highly cringeable].
